Christmas Tree

Top of the tree is cut off in the photo because it’s tucked under the door to hang for this photo. Eventually the whole tree will be sewn onto a rectangle, red quilted fabric and hocks sewn on for hanging.

The star is on a ribbon and will start at in the bottom pocket on December 1st. Each day the star will advance one pocket, working it’s way to the top of the tree, on the 25th. Each pocket is large enough to hold a candy or toys for each of my three grandchildren, whose name appear in the center toward the top (Lonny, Rosie and Jonny). My daughters names are also embroidered onto the tree, Lisa on one side and Frankie on the other, as well as the words Merry Xmas.

Most of these designs were downloaded free on AnnTheGran’s or BuzzTools web sites.

I once made a similar 24 pocket tree for a lady and her daughter, but she put it up in her attic, uncovered and it got eaten by rats. So this one I’m keeping for my own family :-)
